Finally got to see a musculoskeletal specialist yesterday for my chronic pain stuff. Got some good news and bad news.
Good news; they know what it is. Having a diagnosis after 8 months of pain with no explanation is something of a relief.
Bad news; it’s Costochondritis, also known as Tietze’s Syndrome, which although isn’t something that’s going to kill me, it’s one of those conditions that modern medicine still knows very little about. Which means instead of being closer to a solution (as I’d hoped), I’ve still got an indefinite period ahead of me of pain & trying out various things to deal with it in the hope that it will go away eventually. Which is a bit shit, to be honest.
